There are many positions that DV offers, but I am not aware of every one of them. Despite that, I do know about the main ones that J1 students hold during the Winter Season. It's important to mention that DV doesn't allow color painted nails!
INDOOR JOBS
1) Cook: The uniform is the typical "chef" look, including a hat and everything. You'll need to have your own knife!

- Bakery: You have to set everything at the front, like getting milk, yoghurt and place them on ice; getting cookies and pastries and place them si costumers can reach them, and if you're actually a baker, you get to make the pastries. Otherwise, you'll probably put cookies in the oven, make whipped cream, and mostly answering costumers doubts.
- Salad Buffet: You basically get to chop and prepare vegetables to make them look really great on the Natural Buffet (is the place where all the salad and dried fruits, nuts, cheeses goes). The salads are awesome and so are the dressings, so pay attention on how to prepare them haha.
- Soups & Panini: Generally, in the morning you prepare the Panini and Soups (different kinds depending on the day) and when the restaurant opens, you can stay at the front, serving to the guests. I think this Panini thing is only at Empire Lodge; most of the times are 4 persons working (2 at the front and 2 at the back).
- Grill: This job gets very hot; you have to make fries, cook burgers, be in charge of the New York ( kind of meat, not the state).

I say this is one of the most entertaining jobs because there are a lot of things that happen in the kitchen, and stay there; cooks share a lot with each other, so they have a lot of internal jokes.
Of course, by the end of the day you have to clean and organize the kitchen back again, fill a requisition and sometimes you can get to stay longer, depending on whether your supervisor needs you or not. One of the perks of being a cook is that your lunch is free; it won't be deducted from your paycheck.

3) Lodge Attendant: The uniform is: Black pants, a shirt and a long sleeve coat.

4) Restaurant Attendant: The uniform is black pants, black non-slip shoes, black socks, a yellowish long sleeve shirt and a green vest. This job can be divided in the following:
- Busser: Bussers are the most common job among the other RAs do. It is to clean the tables up while and after the guests use them, take the trays with plates, silverware and cups, clear the food out of the plates to place them in a bus cart located in certain rooms in the restaurant and keep the restaurant area organized; answer questions the guests have, and smile a lot :)
Tips: You are allow to receive tips provided you reject the first attempt from the guests (gently, of course). If they insist, you can keep it.
IMPORTANT: supervisors evaluate that you stop doing whatever you're doing when a costumer asks you something, look him/her in the eye, etc.

- Cashier: You could work as a cashier in the main room where guests purchase their meals, or in the Employee Dining Room (EDR). J1s usually don't do the 1st cashier job because there were some problems a couple of years ago, so you could do it in case DV doesn't have anybody else. That's not the case with the EDR tho.
Being a cashier at the EDR consist in cleaning and organizing the place, wipe down the tables for the employees, have enough stock of products, write down the menu on a board, complete a requisition sheet, organize the stock and by the end of the day, count the money of the drawer. They say it's cool because you get to know many employees and you're in constant contact with other people. Since is not a large place, you also get very close to everyone who works in there.
- Beverage Bar Attendant: This job could be your best dream or your worst enemy haha. The beverage area, as it says, is the place where all the sodas, waters, juices are placed along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate machines are, and also a couple of fridges. They all have to be stocked at all times. Besides that, there are a couple of baskets that contain different individual chip brands that have to be stocked too.. and finally, you have to fill the plates that surrounds the Natural Buffet (where the Salad Buffet is).
Why do I say it could be your best dram or worst enemy? When business is low, there's no problem at all. But when it's busy, it gets reaaaaally crazy, however, it's awesome because the day goes by very quickly, and you have to be active all day long.
You also have to keep enough plastic cups, lids, straws and marshmallows for the guests.
- Rover: Rovers take the bus cart with dirty plates, silverware and cups to the dishwashers. They also have to organize the previously named in some containers to let the dishes soak. They are usually man, since it requires strength.

This is a lot like being a Restaurant Attendant, with the difference that you get to serve breakfast in some lodges and also to participate in the buffets that Deer Valley offers. For people who will work in the morning shift (breakfast), they get to clock out at or before 14:00 hrs. Since there are not always buffets, sometimes the Banquet Server do the Restaurant Attendant's Job or even work as a cashier. These guys do receive tips.

6) Childcare: This job is about taking care of children. There are 5 different rooms for children between 5 months old and 8 years old. These kids are the children of PC/DV workers or guests', and the work is pretty much like being a baby sitter: You sing with them, play with them, feed them, wash the blankets they used, make the beds, etc.

7) Housekeeper: This job is about keeping the lodges all clean, make the guests' beds, clean the bathrooms, organize all the area, etc. It's kind of exhausting (most of all for men), but believe me... you'll be in shape haha. This job is pretty good, because they actually get tips (either cash or material things guests leave behind).

8) Ticket Seller: I put this first because I am not sure where to classify it haha. You won't be working on the snow, but you'll probably have a window where the wind blows. This job is about selling tickets and also counting the cash drawer by the end of the day. You'll have a lot of contact with guests.

9) Guest Service Attendant: Guest Service Attendants "assist with equipment unloading and loading upon" guests arrival and departure. They are located at Snow Park, and the uniform they wear is a parka, I think a first layer and a coat, with snow pants too. If you work here, bundle up!! and take some gloves with you, of course.

10) Lift Operator: Among your duties, you have to help guests to seat on the chairlifts (mostly children), operate the lifts, etc. There's a lot of physical activity (shoveling snow) if you are a man. You should bundle up too haha. The uniform is pretty much the same as Guest Service Attendants. NOW, the good news about these job is that you are paid $11 an hour and you get to have 1 hour to ski everyday (except what we call Black-Out (extremely busy periods of the season)).

DV ofrece varios trabajos, pero no estoy al tanto de cada una de ellas. A pesar de eso, sé sobre las principales que los J1 ejercen durante la temporada de invierno. ¡Es importante mencionar que DV no permite tener las uñas pintadas!
TRABAJOS PUERTA ADENTRO
1) Cook: El uniforme es el típico de chef, incluyendo el gorro y todo. ¡Tienes que tener tu propio cuchillo!
En mi opinión, este es uno de los trabajos más entretenidos; puedes trabajar dentro o fuera de la cocina sirviendo platos directamente a los clientes (eso no quiere decir que no vayas a cocinar cuando estés fuera). Puedes trabajar en:
- Bakery: Tienes que preparar todo al frente para los clientes, como colocar leche, yogurt y ponerlos sobre hielo; dejar listas las galletas y pasteles para que los clientes puedan llegar y sacar, etc. Alguno que otro te pedirá crema batida para su café. Si efectivamente eres pasteler@, entonces podrías hasta hacerlos.
- Salad Buffet: Básicamente tienes que cortar y preparar vegetales para hacerlos ver muy bien en el Natural Buffet (es el lugar donde los clientes sacan ensaladas, frutos secos, quesos preparados por DV, etc.). También, durante la mañana se preparan los alimentos en las vasijas que las van a contener.
- Soups & Panini: Generalmente, en la mañana se preparan los Panini y las Sopas (son de diferentes tipos dependiendo del día) y cuando el restaurant abre, puedes quedarte al frente sirviéndole a los clientes.
- Grill: Este trabajo es muy caluroso; tienes que hacer papas fritas, cocinar hamburguesas, estar a cargo del New York (es un tipo de carne... no el estado jaja).
- Pizza: Es básicamente hacer pizza; ¡no conozco mucho el proceso!
Digo que es uno de los trabajos más entretenidos porque pasan muchas cosas dentro y fuera de la cocina que sólo los cocineros saben; tienen una vibra especial jaja.
Por supuesto, al final del día tienen que limpiar y organizar la cocina, y podrían llegar a conseguir quedarse más tiempo, dependiendo si su supervisor los necesita o no. Una de las ventajas de ser cocinero es que el almuerzo no se descuenta del paycheck.

2) Dishwasher: El uniforme es un pantalón y polera ancha, además un jockey en el caso que quieras usar uno.
Este trabajo es muy húmedo jaja. Tienes que lavar los platos, bandejas, cubiertos, tazas, etc; además de el secado de lo recién mencionado y colocarlos donde corresponde. Los Dishwashers tiene el mismo beneficio que los cocineros: el almuerzo no se descuenta del paycheck.

3) Lodge Attendant: El uniforme es: pantalón blanco, una polera y un polerón manga larga.
Los Lodge Attendants hacen el trabajo que no mucha gente quisiera hacer. Limpian los baños (ya sea de los clientes como de los empleados), limpian toda el área del restaurant, sacan todo el reciclaje a los contenedores, prenden el fuego, sacan la basura, etc. Son muy necesarios, y así como los cocineros y dishwashers, no se les cobra el almuerzo. Los amo; no sé qué haríamos sin ellos (no es sarcasmo).

4) Restaurant Attendant: El uniorme es un pantalón negro, zaparos negros antideslizantes, calcetines negros, una camisa (no sé si en todos los países de Latinoamérica le dirán camisa (Chile)) amarillenta y un vestón verde.
Este trabajo se divide en los siguientes roles:
- Busser: Los busser son los más numerosos entre los otros roles; se trata de limpiar las mesas mientras y después que los clientes las usen; sacar las bandejas, platos, cubiertos, vasos (se separan para reciclarlos), botar la comida sobrante y poner todo ordenadamente dentro de un carro que tiene 4 cajoneras plásticas... estas se encuentran en cierta parte de cada cuarto del restaurant. Finalmente, mantener el área del restaurant organizada y responder a las preguntas de los clientes con una gran sonrisa en la cara. IMPORTANTE: Las supervisoras evalúan que uno deje de hacer cualquier cosa que se esté haciendo cuando un cliente pregunta algo, mirarlo a los ojos, etc.
Tips: Tienes permitido recibir tips, pero primero hay que rechazar (amablemente) la propina; si el cliente insiste, te la puedes quedar.
- Cashier: Puedes trabajar como cajer@ en el salón principal donde los clientes compran su comida, o en el comedor de empleados (EDR = Employee Dining Room). Generalmente los J1 o hacen el primero que mencioné, porque hace un par de años atrás hubo ciertos problemas, así que podrías llegar a hacerlo si DV no tiene a nadie más que lo haga por alguno de nosotros. Ese no es el caso con el EDR.
Ser cajer@ en el EDR implica limpiar y organizar el lugar, limpiar las mesas para los empleados, tener suficiente cantidad de productos, escribir el menú del día en una pizarra, completar una hoja de requisición (productos que faltan para el día siguiente), organizar el stock de productos y al final del día contar el dinero de la caja. Los que han hecho este trabajo dicen que es genial, porque tienden a conocer a muchos empleados de DV y están en constante contacto con otras personas. Como no es un lugar muy grande, se llevan muy bien con los demás que trabajan ahí.
- Beverage Bar Attendant: Este puede ser el trabajo de tus sueños o tu peor pesadilla jaja. El área de bebestibles, como lo dice, es es lugar donde van todos los refrescos, jugos, sodas están, además de las máquinas de café, chocolate caliente, té helado y un par de refrigeradores que contienen botellas, los que hay que estar rellenando todo el tiempo. Además de eso, hay un par de canastos que tienen distintas marcas de bolsitas de papas fritas que hay que mantener con stock y por último, hay que estar colocando platos constantemente en el Natural Buffet, además de vasos plásticos, bombillas, tapas para los vasos, marshmellows, etc.
¿Por qué digo que puede ser tu sueño o tu peor pesadilla? Cuando está lento no hay problema, pero cuando hay mucho flujo de gente, es de locos. A pesar de eso, es genial porque el día se pasa muy rápido, y hay que estar todo el tiempo activ@.
- Rover: Los Rovers llevan el carro con cajoneras plásticas donde se colocan los platos, cubiertos y tazas sucias para llevárselos a los dishwashers. También tienen que organizarlos en unos contenedores que tienen agua, para dejar remojando todo. Generalmente los hombres hacen este trabajo, porque requiere fuerza.
Algo así es "buss cart"donde se dejan los platos y otras cosas..

5) Banquet Server: Usan el mismo uniforme que los Restaurant Attendants (RA) (pantalón negro, camisa amarillenta y vestón verde).
Este trabajo se parece mucho al de RA, con la diferencia que en algunos casos se sirve desayuno en un lodge además de participar en los banquetes que realiza Deer Valley. La gente que trabaje en la mañana saldrá del laburo cerca de las 14:00 hrs. Hay muchas veces que no hay banquetes, así que los ponen como RAs o cajeros.
Los Banquet Server sí reciben propina.

6) Childcare: Este trabajo es básicamente ser niñera de los hijos de trabajadores de Park City, Deer Valley o clientes de DV. Hay 5 cuartos donde separan a niños entre 5 meses de vida a 8 años de edad. El trabajo consiste en cantar con ellos, jugar, alimentarlos, lavar las mantas que ocuparon, hacer sus camas, entre otros. ¡Es muy entretenido!

7) Housekeeper: Este trabajo es uno de los más exigentes físicamente. Hay que mantener los lodges limpios, las habitaciones de los huéspedes, hacer sus camas, pasar la aspiradora, limpiar los baños, etc. Puede ser cansadora (más para hombres que para mujeres) pero créanme... estarán en forma jajaja. Este trabajo es bastante bueno porque reciben tips, ya sea dinero o cosas materiales que los huéspedes dejan en sus piesas.

10) Lift Operator: Entre sus deberes tienen que ayudar a los huéspedes a sentarse en los andariveles (sobre todo a niños), hacer funcionar las máquinas, etc. Van a estar activos físicamente paleando nieve, sobre todo si son hombres. El uniforme se parece bastante al de los Guest Service Attendants. AHORA, lo buenísimo de este trabajo es que pagan 11 USD la hora y tienes 1 hora diaria para esquiar. ¿A quién no le gustaría?

11) Ski Instructor: Instructor de Ski: No es muy común ver a J1s que realicen este trabajo; es un buen trabajo porque hay propina, esquías todo el día y enseñas a unos niños muy tiernos (dulces).
